• Introducing, The Master’s Collection – In the course of our work, we meet many tea estates and companies. Some large, some tiny, some focused on quantity, others focus on quality. The Master’s Collection showcase the best and the boldest blends of matcha that come from these growers.
• A Brand New Cultivar – In 2017, the regional cooperative were experimenting with creating different cultivars of the tea plant to further enhance the flavors in matcha. They ended up with a new cultivar they named Seimei. It’s known for its excellent green color and signature aroma.
• A Unique Blend For The Matcha Connoisseurs – The Limited Edition Chiran Harvest looks great and smells great, but also tastes great. It has a very smooth, very creamy texture and interesting nutty malt flavors. Perfect when made into traditional matcha teas.
• Limited Quantities – Because the Seimei cultivar has not yet entered full-scale commercial production, quantity is limited and we sometimes run out of stock. Waiting times may vary depending on the month of the year. Only approximately 150 kg available each year.
• Proudly Made In Chiran, Kagoshima Prefecture – Once upon a time, Kagoshima tea was seen as cheap and low quality. This is no longer the case. In fact, many of them have adapted strongly to the regional climate and terroir to produce great matcha and teas that have begun to rival the best that places like Uji and Shizuoka have to offer.
