Product Description :
The United States Half Dollar is a 50-cent coin that has been in circulation since 1794.
It has gone through several design changes since 1916.
The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was minted from 1916 to 1947, featuring Lady Liberty walking towards the sun on the obverse (front) and an eagle on the reverse (back).
From 1948 to 1963, the Franklin Half Dollar was minted, featuring a portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse.
And since 1964, the Kennedy Half Dollar has been minted, featuring a portrait of John F.
Kennedy on the obverse and the Presidential Coat of Arms on the reverse.
Each of these coins has its own unique design and historical significance.
They are made of different metals, with the Walking Liberty and Frankline Half Dollars, as well as the 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar, being 90% silver and 10% copper, while Kennedy Half Dollars between 1965 and 1970 are 40% silver and 60% copper, with subsequent issues made of a combination of metals, with the majority being a copper-nickel clad over a pure copper core.
These coins continue to be produced for circulation today, and are popular among collectors due to their classic designs and historical significance.
