On the Ecuadorian coins there may be these portraits of Vicente Rocafuerte (Former President of Ecuador), Simón Bolívar (Former Président de la Grande Colombie), Isidro Ayora (a former Ecuadorian president), Antonio José de Sucre (Venezuelan independence leader who served as the fourth President of Peru and as President of Bolivia.
Sucre was one of Simón Bolívar”s closest friends, generals and statesmen), Eugenio Espejo (a medical pioneer, writer and lawyer), Juan Montalvo (author and essayist), José Joaquín de Olmedo (President of Ecuador, a patriot and poet), Eloy Alfaro (politician who served as the President of Ecuador from 1895 to 1901).
